It's the oldest story in the book: boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy wants to marry girl ….. and the parents say no. So the star-crossed lovers flee into the woods to consummate their love. But they are followed by a jealous rival, who also wants the girl, as well as the girl's best friend, who loves the rival, who doesn't love her. As if this confusion wasn't enough, strange things start happening in the woods. As night falls and the forest comes alive with the most fantastical creatures, a man is turned into a monster, a beautiful lady falls in love with a beast, people's secret wishes are fulfilled and their dark desires come out into the open …. All of a sudden, everything is possible and nobody can be quite sure if any of the things that are happening are true or just a dream. All we do know is that the age-old saying is right: "the course of true love never did run smooth."
